Reservable City of Wausau Park Shelters
A brochure describing these buildings is available in pdf format (50kb) here, and at the Park Office, 212 River Drive, Suite 2, Wausau. To reserve a shelter, complete a contract and pay the daily reservation fee. The first person completing the above, reserves the shelter. Shelters may not be held over the phone.
CANCELLATIONS - REFUND POLICY: There shall be a service fee for any canceled Facility Reservation Agreement. For all cancellations made 14 calendar days or more prior to the scheduled event, $10/per reservation or 10% of the TOTAL rental fee, whichever is greater, is forfeited. For all cancellations made 13 calendar days or less before the scheduled event, the TOTAL rental fee is forfeited.

Oak Island Shelter:
| 500 River Drive, Wausau. Located north of Thomas Street on River Drive. Rose Bowl baseball diamond (Jr. & Sr. league), lights, bleachers, drinking fountain. Enclosed Shelter: Fireplace, drinking fountain, stove top, kitchen sink (no hot water), electricity, rustic wooden tables & benches. Outside: grill pit, 6 lighted tennis courts, boat landing with dock, paved path, drinking fountain, flush toilets with sinks, playground equipment, 2 open shelters, grills, picnic tables, pathways with benches, water fountains, Little League diamond, dumpsters, recycling station, bridge to Fern Island. FERN ISLAND: Open play areas, hiking trails, popular place for wedding ceremony. |

Pleasant View Park:
|
1221 Sumner Street, Wausau. Located on the corner of 12th Street and Sumner (north of Kraft Foods, Inc. off of Townline Road). Reservatons made through the Park Office. Enclosed Shelter: Bench around outside wall, sink with cold running water, fireplace, wooden tables, kindling wood, broom, mops, lights, flush toilets in basement, electrical outlets. Covered wings: picnic tables, grills. Outside: Playground areas with equipment, tennis courts, grills outside, scattered picnic tables, lighted sledding hill in winter, dumpster.

Riverside Park:
|
100 Sherman Street, Wausau. Location: First Avenue to Sherman Street, east on Sherman to end (behind 3M). Enclosed Shelter: 18 round tables and 2 rectangular tables with total seating for around 125 people, cafeteria style, chairs, ceiling fans, no air-conditioning, flush toilets inside shelter, garbage cans, dumpster, drinking fountain, 2 coat rooms, BBQ shelter, no grills, open shelter off back of kitchen with picnic tables. Kitchen: Refrigerator/freezer, sink, stove. Handicap Pathways, drinking fountains, toilets. Outside: Blacktop bike trail, half-court basketball court/bounce board, softball backstop, baseball field, volleyball court (bring your own nets), bridge to Picnic Island, 2 pedestrian stone stairways from 1st Ave to park, playground equipment, no overhead projector. Picnic Island: picnic tables, pedestrian bridge.

Sylvan Hill Park:
|
1329 Sylvan Street, Wausau. Location: 6th Street north to Horseshoe Spring Road. East on Horseshoe Spring Road to Sylvan Street. Fireplace (check on availability of firewood), new handicapped ramp, dumpster, windows with screens, open spacious area, restrooms downstairs with flush toilets, 14 folding tables (30 x 96) and 115 chairs. Kitchen (not available during tubing season), refrigerator/freezer, sink with hot & cold water, brooms, 4-burner stove top, kitchen island. Outside: 2 open shelters, picnic tables, cross-country ski trails, no electric outlets, play equipment, municipal tubing hill.
